INDIA'S FIRST MISSION TO MOON..........


Chandrayaan-1 is an unmanned mission by Indian Space Reasearch Organisation(ISRO).For launching the spacecraft they are using Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles.Its weighs about 1340 kgs.It also carries a high resolution remote sensing equipment.

OBJECTIVE:
  • Its main objective is to prepare a 3-dimensional atlas of both near and far side of the moon.

  • To conduct chemical and mineralogical of the entire lunar surface for distribution of elements.

ESTIMATE:

  • The estimated cost is INR 3.8 billion(US$ 83 million).

MISSION DURATION:

  • TWO YEARS

POWER:

  • 750Watts

ECCENTRICITY:

  • Near circular

Apoapsis:

  • Initial 1000 km

LAUNCH:

  • The launch of the satellite will be on October 22 with a window fixed between October 19 and October 28.
